David S. Boyer, M.D. Background: David Boyer is a practicing ophthalmologist who specializes in the treatment of diseases of the retina and vitreous. Dr. Boyer is a Senior Partner at the Retina-Vitreous Associates Medical Group and a Clinical Associate Professor at the University of Southern California. He also has an extensive research background involving trials for age-related macular degeneration, diabetic retinopathy, and cytomegalovirus retinitis. Dr. Boyer has been on the advisory boards for Alcon, Novartis, Eyetech/Pfizer, Genentech, Neurotech and the Macular Degeneration Partnership and is a reviewer for several ophthalmology and diabetes medical publications including Archives of Ophthalmology, American Journal of Ophthalmology, Diabetes Care, and Ophthalmology. Throughout his career, Dr. Boyer has been honored by prestigious organizations including the American Academy of Ophthalmology (Board of Trustees Honor Award Certificate) and Retinitis Pigmentosa International (1996 Jules Stein Living Tribute Award). |

Edward Dennis, Ph.D. Background: Ed Dennis is Professor of Pharmacology, Chemistry and Biochemistry at the School of Medicine at the University of California, San Diego. He is considered an expert in the field of lipid research and inflammation with over 250 publications in this area. He is Editor-in-Chief of the top rated Journal of Lipid Research and has chaired numerous international symposiums on bioactive lipids, lipidomics, cancer and inflammation. He has held numerous consultant positions in large pharma including Lilly and Hoffman La-Roche and Board of Directors and SAB positions in biotech. Dr. Dennis provides expertise in the field of lipid research. |

Andrew Dorr, M.D. Background: Andrew Dorr is a medical oncologist with extensive experience developing clinical programs for biopharmaceutical companies. He has over 20 years of experience in drug development, regulatory compliance and executive oversight for pharmaceutical companies. He served as Chief Operating Officer at Salmedix, Inc., and Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Drug Development at Isis Pharmaceuticals, Inc. Previously, he was an Associate Professor of Medicine at Indiana University School of Medicine and worked in clinical and medical research roles with Eli Lilly and Company. Dr. Dorr also served for seven years as a Senior Investigator with the Cancer Therapy Evaluation Program at the National Cancer Institute's Division of Cancer Treatment. He received his medical degree from the University of North Carolina in Chapel Hill, North Carolina and is a member of American Society of Clinical Oncology and American Association for Cancer Research. |

Jeffrey Heier, M.D. Background: Jeffrey Heier is Assistant Professor, Tufts University School of Medicine, and Clinical Instructor, Harvard Medical School. He is also a vitreoretinal specialist for Ophthalmic Consultants of Boston. Dr. Heier was one of the lead investigators of Genentech's MARINA and FOCUS studies and has served as an advisor or consultant to Genentech, Eyetech Pharmaceuticals, Pfizer, VisionCare Ophthalmic Technologies, OXiGENE, Jerini, Novartis, iScience Surgical Corp., Genzyme, and Carl Zeiss Meditec. Surgery Branch. Prior to joining the Yale University School of Medicine, he was Vice President for Clinical Affairs at Vion Pharmaceuticals. |

Peter K. Kaiser, MD Background: Peter Kaiser is a Staff member of the vitreoretinal faculty of the Cole Eye Institute in the Department of Ophthalmology at Cleveland Clinic's main campus. He was appointed in 1997. Dr. Kaiser is actively involved in retinal clinical research, and is study chairman of 4 major, multi-center, international clinical trials and is a principal investigator in multiple other trials. Complementing his research endeavors, Dr. Kaiser serves on numerous scientific advisory boards and addresses his research interests as an invited speaker at national and international conferences. |

Baruch Kupperman, M.D., Ph.D. Background: Barry Kupperman is a Professor and Chief of the Retina Service at the University of California, Irvine. He is the principal investigator at UCI for several multicenter national trials evaluating new drugs and devices for the treatment of diabetic retinopathy, age-related macular degeneration, and the ocular complications of AIDS. |

Gordon Mills, M.D., Ph.D. Background: Gordon Mills is the Ann Rife Cox chair of gynecology, chair of the department of systems biology in the Division of Cancer Medicine and co-head of the Kleberg Center for Molecular Markers of the University of Texas M. D. Anderson Cancer Center. He is a highly regarded expert in the field of cancer and lipid research. Dr. Mills is on the external advisory board of several cancer research centers including centers at Vanderbilt and Baylor as well as centers in Toronto and Seattle. Dr. Mills provides a broad knowledge of preclinical and clinical drug and antibody development in the lipid research field and his research focuses on the PI3K pathway, lysophospholipids, the genomics and genetics of womenâ??s cancers, and identifying and characterizing a number of potential oncogenes and tumor suppressor genes. He holds more than 20 patents in novel technologies and molecular biomarkers, was the founding head of the M. D. Anderson Cancer Center Technology Review Committee, and has contributed more than 400 papers to Nature, Cell, Oncogene, Cancer Research and Clinical Cancer Research, among others. |

Jason Slakter, M.D. Background: Jason Slakter is a board-certified vitreoretinal surgeon and macular-disease specialist and currently practices at the Vitreous-Retina-Macula Consultants in New York City. In addition, he is a Clinical Professor of Ophthalmology at NYU's School of Medicine and an attending surgeon and Surgeon Director at the Manhattan Eye, Ear, and Throat Hospital in New York. Dr. Slakter is an internationally recognized retinal specialist whose chief research interests relate to exudative AMD, retinal vascular disease, and central serous chorioretinopathy. He serves on the medical advisory boards of many biotechs and pharmaceutical companies involved in these areas. Mario Sznol, M.D. Background: Mario Sznol is Associate Professor of Medicine and Vice-Chief of the Section of Medical Oncology at the Yale University School of Medicine. Dr. Sznol's expertise in cancer immunotherapy, drug development for cancer, and treatment of patients with melanoma and renal cell carcinoma is internationally recognized. He is a graduate of Baylor College of Medicine and completed his fellowship training in medical oncology at Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. Dr. Sznol was a Senior Investigator and subsequently Head of the Biologics Evaluation Section of the Investigational Drug Branch at the National Cancer Institute (NCI). Also at the NCI, Dr. Sznol attended on the inpatient/outpatient services of the Biological Response Modifiers Program and the Immunotherapy Service of the Surgery Branch. Prior to joining the Yale University School of Medicine, he was Vice President for Clinical Affairs at Vion Pharmaceuticals. |
